Unfortunately, shoulder problems are quite common, causing variable amounts of pain and limitation of movement. Shoulder pain is sometimes brought on by long term poor posture but can be more of an acute episode through a specific strain or injury. Sometimes the cause is simply unknown.
Frozen shoulder happens when the tissue around your shoulder joint becomes inflamed. The tissue then gets tighter and shrinks, which causes pain.
It can respond well to treatment and the pain and stiffness will usually go away eventually, but a frozen shoulder can take at least 1.5 to 2 years to get better without treatment. Sometimes, recovery can take longer and require intervention.
